EBZ offers its competences in stack integration and system development to bring the SOFC technology to the market. It is familiar with fuel processing of different hydrocarbons from natural gas, LPG, methanol, ethanol and diesel to generate a SOFC stack compatible process gas. Reforming technologies like steam reforming (SR), catalytic partial oxidation (CPOX), thermal partial oxidation (TPOX) and autothermal reforming (ATR) were developed in-house or validated from partners.

EBZ has evaluated and tested different system layouts. Key components like reformer, heat exchangers, evaporators, start-up and afterburners were developed in-house. Furthermore, EBZ participates in the EU/JTI R&D project ASSENT to develop anode off-gas recirculation (ARG) technologies as key factor for a commercial success of steam reforming based SOFC systems.

Experiences in the development of control and safety process together with requirements from the CE certification process was obtained in recent years. So, EBZ understands itself as link between to bring SOFC specific know-how to a successful product development.
